Attorney Profile: Todd Clement

Todd decided he wanted to be an attorney when he was in junior high.  He graduated magna cum laude from Texas Tech University and remained there for law school.  After graduating third in his law school class in 1986, Todd was one of eighteen attorneys in the state selected as a briefing attorney for the Texas Supreme Court. During his year of service, Todd helped Justice Franklin Spears decide major cases and write legal opinions thereby gaining unique knowledge into the law and how judges think.  This insight continues to benefit his clients twenty-two years later.

After completing his term at the Texas Supreme Court, Todd was hired by Vial, Hamilton, Koch & Knox, a prominent downtown Dallas law firm which eventually grew to over 125 lawyers before he left. While there, Todd worked directly under and was mentored by Bob Vial, a past national president of

the American Board of Trial Advocates and a true Dallas legal legend.  At Vial Hamilton, Todd usually represented the defendants in personal injury cases and that experience gave him invaluable knowledge into how defendants and their insurance companies handle and value cases.

Towards the end of his years at Vial Hamilton, Todd was given the opportunity to represent a teenager who received severe brain damage from a dangerous truck and the widow of a man who burned to death in a collision.  Through those cases, he realized that representing injured victims and their families, not defendants and insurance companies, was his life’s calling.  Todd then spent two more years working with and learning from another legendary Dallas trial lawyer, Boyd Waggoner, before founding his own successful personal injury practice in 1995.

Todd’s purpose in representing his clients is to provide exceptional personal and professional attention to every case entrusted to him.  He tries to fulfill the commandment found in Galations 6:2 to “help carry one another’s burdens and in this way, you will obey the laws of Christ.”

Since he only handles a select few cases per year, clients will usually talk directly with Todd as their case progresses. He personally and promptly return phone calls, usually within less than twenty-four hours. Todd also strives to get to know his clients personally and many lifetime friendships have resulted.

Todd was born and raised in Pampa, Texas.  He has been married to his wife for sixteen years, and they are the proud parents of two children. Todd is active in St. Andrew United Methodist Church and has been a leader in his children’s bible study, sports and Y Guide activities.  Todd is an avid fisherman.
